Reba McEntire postpones ‘Reba: Live in Concert Tour’ until 2022

Reba McEntire has pushed back her scheduled headlining tour until 2022. The Reba: Live in Concert Tour — a new tour — includes 12 of the 13 cities on her summer 2021 Arena Tour. A planned show in St. Paul, Minn., has been fully canceled. The new tour will begin in Evansville, Ind., on Jan. 13, 2022 and take her through mid-March.

The tour was originally scheduled to begin in March 2020 but was pushed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Reba also had to cancel several Las Vegas shows with Brooks & Dunn that were scheduled for 2020. There’s no word on if, or when, those will be rescheduled.

“We cannot wait to get back out on the road and bring you our brand new show,” McEntire posted on social media. “If you’ve got your tickets, hang on to them — they’ll be good for the new dates. We’ve waited as long as we possibly could to make a decision, but unfortunately we’re not going to be able to play our 2021 Reba: Live in Concert dates. As much as I wish we could get back out on the road, it’s just not possible yet.”

Netflix renews ‘Bridgerton’ for Seasons 3 and 4

Netflix’s period drama Bridgerton will return for two more seasons; the streaming service confirmed that it renewed the series for Seasons 3 and 4.

Bridgerton is based on the Julia Quinn book series of the same name. Season 1 centered on the romance between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), while Season 2 will follow Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) search for a wife. Netflix confirmed this month that Page won’t reprise Simon in Season 2.

Bridgerton, produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, premiered in December and has since become Netflix’s biggest series yet, reaching a record 82 million households in its first 28 days. The series will begin production on Season 2 in the UK this week.

The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood comes out as gay

On Wednesday, former Bachelor star Colton Underwood, 29, appeared on Good Morning America where he came out as gay in a sit-down interview with Robin Roberts. Underwood said that he has used 2020 to reflect on himself and “came to terms” with his sexuality earlier this year.

The reality star said, “I’ve ran from myself for a long time. I’ve hated myself for a long time, and I’m gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year and trying to process it. I’m emotional, but in such a good happy positive way. I’m happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life.” Asked about why Underwood is now revealing the news, the star said he got “into a place for me in personal life that was dark and bad.”

The former football star starred as the Bachelor during Season 23 of the dating show in 2019, ultimately giving his final rose to contestant Cassie Randolph. During the GMA interview, Underwood said he was still in love with Randolph and “loved everything about her” during his season of the reality show. Underwood and Randolph, 25, never got engaged, and dated until announcing their split in May 2020.

President Biden to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by 9/11

President Joe Biden will withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, According to sources, Biden is expected to make the official announcement Wednesday. The full withdrawal will happen before or by the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, extending the May 2021 deadline set by the Trump administration.

The Taliban had threatened an increase in violence should the United States keep armed forces in the country beyond May 1. Sources said that the Biden administration hoped that by setting a new, specific date, it could avoid that violence.

A senior administration official told CNN that U.S. officials told the Taliban that any attack on U.S. troops in the meantime would be met with retaliation. There are currently more than 2,500 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Minnesota officer, police chief resign after Daunte Wright fatal shooting

The police chief and the officer in Brooklyn Center, Minn. who fatally shot a 20-year-old black man during a traffic stop resigned on Tuesday.  Officer Kimberly Potter submitted her resignation letter to the Law Enforcement Labor Services, a public safety labor union. Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott said the city didn’t ask Potter, a 26-year veteran, to resign. Police Chief Tim Gannon also issued his resignation in the wake of Sunday’s shooting, which resulted in two days of protests.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said in a statement that Potter discharged her firearm Sunday afternoon during a traffic stop that resulted in the death of Daunte Wright. She was placed on administration leave before her resignation. Authorities released a brief video clip of the incident from her body-worn camera. During a news conference, police chief Gannon said Potter accidentally shot Wright with her firearm and believed that she “had the intention” to deploy her Taser.

The officers pulled Wright over Sunday afternoon and discovered he was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. In the footage, Wright appears to struggle with the arresting officer and Potter is heard repeatedly saying “Taser” before discharging her weapon, firing a single bullet.

Gov. Tim Walz declared a curfew for the four counties of Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota and Anoka from 7 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday after protesters and police clashed in the Minneapolis suburb for a second night.

1 dead, officer injured after shooting at high school in Knoxville, Tennessee

Authorities confirm that one person was killed and a police officer was injured Monday during a shooting at a high school in Tennessee. The city’s police department said in a statement that shots were fired after officers in Knoxville responded to a report of an armed person at Austin-East Magnet High School on Monday afternoon. It wasn’t clear if the person, described as a male, was a student. The person was killed and a Knoxville police officer was struck at least once, suffering what the department said were non-life threatening injuries. A second person was detained for further investigation, authorities said.

Knox County Schools Superintendent Bob Thomas said the school had been secured and students who weren’t involved in the shooting were released to their families. Thomas called the incident “tragic.” During a news conference about students returning to in-school learning, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee asked people to pray for victims of the shooting and their families.
