Carrie Underwood’s first collection of gospel songs, My Savior, was released earlier this year. Underwood’s album included covers of famous church hymns like as “The Old Rugged Cross” and “I Surrender All.”

Underwood was one of the nominees for this year’s GMA Dove Awards, which were announced this week. My Savior has been nominated for Best Country/Roots/Bluegrass Album of the Year, and Underwood’s duet with CeCe Winans on “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” has been nominated for Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year.

In 2006, Underwood won a GMA Dove Award for Country Recorded Song of the Year for her debut.single “Jesus, Take The Wheel.”

The groups podcast Set It Straight: Myths and Legends premieres on Amazon Music on Aug. 25 . Mark Wystrach said in an interview: “Set It Straight: Myths and Legends is a chance for us to dive into the fascinating folklore and fables in and around country music and gives us an excuse to hang and informally chat with some of our biggest musical and artistic heroes,”.

In early 2022 Dolly Parton will show that she is more than music by releasing her first novel Run, Rose, Run.

In a statement to People Parton says, “I cannot be more excited about the release of my very first novel.” Patterson adds “It’s been an honor — and a hell of a lot of fun — to work with the inimitable Dolly Parton, whom I’ve long admired for her music, her storytelling, and her enormous generosity.”

“The mind-blowing thing about this project is that reading the novel is enhanced by listening to the album and vice versa,” says Patterson. “It’s a really unique experience that I know readers (and listeners) will love.”

Run, Rose, Run the book and the album are set for release on March 7, 2022.
