Luke Combs teases new song ‘Love You Anyway’

Luke Combs teased an unreleased performance of a new song called “Love You Anyway” on his social media. “Love You Anyway” is not brand new to those who have been following Combs’ social media for the past couple of years. Combs announced his new album is due to arrive on March 24. There’s no word yet on what the name of the project is, but Combs has said that it contains 18 brand new songs. The singer’s third album, Growin’ Up, was just released in June 2022,

Combs also has extensive world tour plans on the books for 2023, with stops in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Ireland and more as well as in the U.S. Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson and Riley Green are among his opening acts.

Ex-Trump Org. CFO Allen Weisselberg sentenced to 5 months in prison for tax fraud

Former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization Allen Weisselberg was sentenced to five months in prison Tuesday for his role in a tax fraud scheme and evading taxes on nearly $2 million in earnings. Had he been convicted at trial, he could have faced up to 15 years in prison.

The 75-year-old Weisselberg was handcuffed following his sentencing and will be placed at Rikers Island to start his sentence. He will likely serve 100 days, taking into account time off for good behavior. Weisselberg has paid about $2 million in taxes and penalties, satisfying his plea agreement, according to district attorney Susan Hoffinger. After serving his prison sentence, Weisselberg will remain on probation for five years.

In August, Weisselberg pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a 15-year scheme to evade city, state and federal taxes on $1.76 million in unreported income. The charges against Weisselberg included grand larceny, criminal tax fraud, conspiracy, falsifying business records and offering a false instrument for filing. As part of his plea agreement, Weisselberg testified against the Trump Organization in November, saying in court that he and other Trump executives knew the tax practices were illegal. He testified that the illegal tax practices were cleaned up when Donald Trump became president. The company was found guilty of tax fraud in December.

California Representative Katie Porter announces plan to run for Diane Feinstein’s Senate seat

California Representative Katie Porter has announced her intention to run for Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein’s seat in 2024. Porter tweeted Tuesday: “California needs a warrior in the Senate-to stand up to special interests, fight the dangerous imbalance in our economy, and hold so-called leaders like Mitch McConnell accountable for rigging our democracy … Today, I’m proud to announce my candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2024.”

Feinstein has not officially announced her retirement; however, she is expected to leave the Senate after her current term expires. Feinstein said in a statement Tuesday: “Everyone is of course welcome to throw their hat in the ring, and I will make an announcement concerning my plans for 2024 at the appropriate time.” Feinstein reiterated in December that she would not leave her post before her term is up.

Porter was re-elected for a third term as representative for California’s 47th Congressional District after a close race against Republican challenger Scott Baugh in November.

Jelly Roll earns first No. 1 at country radio with “Son Of A Sinner”

Nashville native Jelly has officially earned his first No. 1 hit at country radio with “Son Of A Sinner.”
The singer took to social media to celebrate the news, sharing in a lengthy Facebook post: “There is no greater reward for a singer and songwriter in Nashville, Tennessee than to have the #1 song on country radio …Now imagine that happening to a guy that grew up in this town… a guy that at every turn the first 25 years of his life he made the wrong decision. Imagine everyone telling that guy he had no chance at country radio. ‘You’re too over weight, you have too many tattoos, they will never let another convicted criminal on country radio’ – now imagine country radio proving everyone wrong and taking the chance on the song, the message and the man.”

The singer/songwriter continued his message as he graciously thanked his fans: “If you can imagine that, then you can understanding why I’m so filled with gratitude as tears stream down my face while I type this, I currently have the number 1 song on country radio. Thank you to my fans who called and requested this song at their local radio station and celebrated like I did the first time they heard it played— I do this for y’all. Thank you Country Radio and all the DSPs for making Son of a Sinner my first number 1 at country radio. I vow to never let you down or forget the chance you gave me when everyone told you not to!”

“Son Of A Sinner”, produced by ERNEST and Ilya Toshinskiy,  takes the No. 1 spot from Jimmie Allen’s “Down Home,” which sat at the No. 1 spot for multiple weeks.
