Prime Video has shared the official trailer for the new spy thriller ‘Citadel’, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, and executive produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame) and showrunner David Weil.

Citadel is described as a ‘global adventure where spies from several countries came together for the ultimate mission.’   An official synopsis reads: “Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency — tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people — was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.”

Citadel will premier with its first two episodes on Prime Video on April 28, followed by a new episode released every Friday through May 26.  Take a look at the trailer – here.

Person detained in Mexico in connection with kidnapped Americans that left 2 dead, 2 rescued

Update: Tamaulipas, Mexico, Gov. Américo Villarreal confirmed one person has been detained in connection with the kidnapping of 4 Americans in Matamoros. The four were found in a wooden shack, where they were being guarded by a man who was arrested. Villarreal said the captive Americans had been moved around by their captors, and at one point were taken to a medical clinic “to create confusion and avoid efforts to rescue them.”

Mexican authorities confirmed the discovery of the four U.S. citizens missing since their abduction last week in the northern Mexican border city of Matamoros on Friday. Authorities found 2 of the hostages killed and 2 recovered alive. Tamaulipas, Mexico, Gov. Américo Villarreal said that one of the surviving U.S. citizens was wounded and the other was not. Tamaulipas Attorney General Irving Barrios tweeted“Derived from the joint search actions, the four American citizens deprived of their liberty last Friday were found. Unfortunately, two dead. Investigation and intelligence work continue to capture those responsible. Details will be given later.”

The FBI had reported Sunday that it was searching with Mexican authorities for the missing Americans, who had been kidnapped Friday. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that shortly after entering Mexico, the four Americans were caught in the crossfire of rival cartel groups. A video showed them being loaded into the back of a pickup truck by gunmen. The U.S. embassy in Mexico said that gunmen shot into a vehicle containing the four Americans and subsequently “herded them into another vehicle and fled the scene with them. U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar said a Mexican bystander was also killed.

The four Americans who were kidnapped were identified as Latavia “Tay” McGee, Shaeed Woodard, Eric James Williams and Zindell Brown. A relative said Monday that they had traveled together from South Carolina so one of them could get a tummy tuck from a Matamoros doctor.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price confirmed during a press briefing that both survivors had been returned to the U.S. by Tuesday afternoon, and 0fficials were still “in the process of working to repatriate the remains” of the two victims who were killed.  Price also told reporters: “The investigation is in its earliest days. I understand we may have more to share from the FBI at the appropriate time.”

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and wife to visit White House for official state visit

The White House announced Tuesday that South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee will travel to Washington for an official state visit on April 26. Yoon was elected president of South Korea last May. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said: “The upcoming visit celebrates the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-ROK alliance, which is critical to advancing peace, stability, and prosperity for our two countries, the Indo-Pacific, and around the world. President Biden and President Yoon will highlight the importance and enduring strength of the ironclad U.S.-ROK alliance as well as the United States’ unwavering commitment to the ROK. The presidents will discuss our shared resolve to deepen and broaden our political, economic, security and people-to-people ties.” (the Republic of Korea is the official name of South Korea).

The presidents have met multiple times the past year, including during visits to Cambodia and the United Nations General Assembly in New York.  The White House said the visit from President Yoon Suk-yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee will include a state dinner. White House state visits traditionally includes formal ceremonies, bilateral meetings and a black-tie dinner.

On Monday, South Korea announced plans to compensate victims of Japanese wartime forced labor, settling a bitter dispute between two key U.S. allies. The U.S. and South Korea also both announced they will be reviving a massive springtime joint military exercise this month, in response to growing missile and nuclear threats from North Korea.  The two countries are returning to a scale not seen in five years.

Brantley Gilbert to release deluxe edition of ‘So Help Me God’ featuring five new songs

Brantley Gilbert will release a new deluxe edition “So Help Me God” with five additional tracks, set to be released on April 21st.  Gilbert co-wrote all 15 tracks on the deluxe album, including his current single “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill.

Says Gilbert: “We’ve always been a little outside of the box when it comes to writing and recording. It’s not necessarily something we’ve done on purpose, but it tends to happen because we always try to serve the song as it takes shape rather than shaping the song to serve us. If a song is asking for a harder edge, let’s do that. If it feels a little more introspective, let’s lean into that. This album intersects across a lot of different genres, and we’re proud to say that it’s something that happened naturally.”

To pre-order So Help Me God (Deluxe Edition) – head here.

1 killed, 9 injured in stampede at GloRilla concert in Rochester, New York

Police confirm that one person was killed and at least nine others were injured after a stampede was sparked by reports of gunfire at a GloRilla concert in Rochester, New York on Sunday night. GloRilla — real name Gloria Hallelujah Woods — said in a tweet early Monday morning that she was “just now hearing about what happened …praying everybody is ok.”

The Rochester Police Department said in a news release that as fans were leaving the GloRilla concert at the Main Street Armory just after 11 p.m., they thought they heard gunfire inside the venue – which caused the crowd to surge and rush toward the exit.  Police said: “We do not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or anyone being shot or stabbed,” and they were unclear as to why fans thought they heard gunfire. Police are continuing to investigate what caused the incident, as well as who may have been responsible.

A 33-year-old woman did not survive her injuries, and two others remain in critical condition. Police said that “as the night went on, an additional seven people arrived at local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries from the event. Preliminary reports from people at the scene indicate that these injuries were caused from being trampled.”

The next scheduled show at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, a Saturday performance by rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, has since been canceled.
