Kameron Marlowe shares video for the single ‘Seventeen’

Kameron Marlowe has released the new single “Seventeen,” written by Marlowe, Tucker Beathard, Austin Goodloe, and Joybeth Taylor – with an additional credit to Bruce Springsteen, whose classic hit “Born In The U.S.A.” is briefly mentioned in the opening verse.

Marlowe says of the track: “One of my favorite things about music is how it can transport you to a specific time and place. We wrote ‘Seventeen,’ about that feeling you have when you’re young and on top of the world. I spent my summers listening to music on the lake with my friends, getting into trouble and making some of the best memories of my life. I hope this song takes you back there with us.”

The official music video for “Seventeen,” directed by Matt Paskert, was filmed at a lake house in Joelton, TN. The clip features a group of old friends, flashing back and forth between the playful antics of their teenage years to present day reminiscence around a back porch card table.

Marlowe adds: “I’ve been really inspired this year. Coming off of the Sad Songs For the Soul project, we just wanted to shake it up and have fun. This song feels like summer to me, and it feels like we’re about to have a big one – can’t wait to play these shows for y’all.”

Jeremy Allen White stars in the first trailer for ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere’

Jeremy Allen White portrays the ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen in the new trailer for the upcoming biopic ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere’.

Directed by Scott Cooper, “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” is based on the book “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” 20th Century Studios said in a statement that the film “chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 ‘Nebraska’ album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.  Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”

Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere also features Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Doug, Odessa Young as love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive, Al Teller.

Judge rules that man accused of assassination attempt on Pres. Trump can represent himself at trial

A federal judge ruled Thursday that the man charged with trying to assassinate President Donald Trump last year at a golf course in South Florida can represent himself during his trial. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon signed off on a request from the suspect, Ryan Routh, asking to represent himself during his trial. Cannon however added that court-appointed attorneys need to remain as standby counsel. The move comes after federal public defenders had asked to be taken off the case earlier this week, saying Routh had refused repeated attempts to meet with them.

Routh, 59, is scheduled to stand trial in September, a year after prosecutors say a U.S. Secret Service agent thwarted his attempt to shoot Mr. Trump as he played golf at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, FL. Prosecutors say that Routh methodically plotted to kill Mr. Trump for weeks before aiming a rifle through the shrubbery as Mr. Trump played golf on Sept. 15. A Secret Service agent spotted Routh before Mr. Trump came into view. Officials said Routh aimed his rifle at the agent, who opened fire, causing Routh to drop his weapon and flee without firing a shot. According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, Routh was armed with an AK-47-style rifle and was allegedly 300-500 yards away from Mr. Trump when the Secret Service agent spotted his rifle in the tree line.

In a June 29 letter to Judge Cannon, Routh said that he and his attorneys were “a million miles apart” and that they were refusing to answer his questions. He also suggested in the same letter that he could be used in a prisoner exchange with Iran, China, North Korea or Russia: “I could die being of some use and save all this court mess, but no one acts; perhaps you have the power to trade me away,” he wrote.

The federal public defender’s office filed a motion for termination of appointment of counsel on Wednesday, saying “the attorney-client relationship is irreconcilably broken,” and that Routh refused six attempts to meet with their team, including a scheduled in-person meeting Tuesday morning at the federal detention center in Miami: “It is clear that Mr. Routh wishes to represent himself, and he is within his Constitutional rights to make such a demand,” the motion said.

Routh has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer and several firearm violations. He has also pleaded not guilty to state charges of terrorism and attempted murder.

Professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan dies at age 71

Wrestling legend Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea died on Thursday at the age of 71. News of Hogan’s passing was first reported by news outlet TMZ.

According to the Clearwater Fire and Police Departments, a 911 call was made for a person in possible cardiac arrest at Hogan’s Clearwater Beach home. Hogan was treated by fire and rescue crews before being transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  During a news conference Thursday afternoon, Clearwater Police Maj. Nate Burnside said Hulk died at 11:17 AM, adding that there are “no signs of foul play or suspicious activity.”

Hogan’s professional wrestling career began in the late 1970s, but his huge popularity began in the mid-1980s when he helped Vince McMahon turn the WWE (then WWF) into a national brand, and eventually a multi-billion-dollar company. Hogan kickstarted the pop culture phenomenon with “Hulkamania” after defeating the Iron Sheik for the World Heavyweight Championship in 1984, with his signature bandana and handlebar mustache often copied by fans.

Hogan also had a successful movie career, beginning in 1982 with “Rocky III’” he also starred in the films “No Holds Barred,” “Suburban Commando” and “Mr. Nanny.”  In 2006, he starred for two seasons in the hit VH1 reality show, “Hogan Knows Best,” with his family:  then-wife, Linda, and children Nick and Brooke.

Hulk was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, but was removed in 2015 after a scandal erupted over racist comments he made while being secretly recorded.  After winning a lawsuit against Gawker who published the recording, Hulk was inducted a second time in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of NWO (New World Order). The WWE posted on X: ‘WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.’

One of Hogan’s biggest wrestling rivals, Ric Flair (who was one of his closest friends outside the ring), posted on X: “I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend! 🙏🏻

Grammy Awards reveals 2 new categories, rule changes for the 2026 ceremony

The Recording Academy has tweaked some of its rules for the 2026 Grammy Awards, which includes a stand-alone category for best album cover.

The academy announced that the best recording package and the best boxed or special limited edition package categories will be combined into the best recording package category, with best album cover spun out on its own.

Eligibility for Best New Artist has been expanded to include artists who have been previously nominated in Album Of The Year, but whose contributions fell below the current 20 percent playing time threshold — allowing for acts who were credited as featured artists on projects that were Grammy nominated for Album Of The Year in a previous awards cycle, to be eligible for Best New Artist consideration.

In addition: the existing Best Country Album Category has been renamed Best Contemporary Country Album, and a new Category, ‘Best Traditional Country Album,’ has been added.

The existing Best Recording Package and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package Categories have been combined into one single Category: Best Recording Package. A new Category, ‘Best Album Cover,’ has also been added.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement: “The Academy’s top priority is to represent the music people that we serve each year. That entails listening carefully to our members to make sure our rules and guidelines reflect today’s music and allow us to accurately recognize as many deserving creators as possible. As we kick off another exciting GRAMMY Season, we look forward to celebrating the amazing power of music and its ability to bring so many people together.”

The Grammys will be held Feb. 1 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with nominations set to be announced on Nov. 7.
